Conversations Delivers Book Donation For Project In Costa Rica

Thanks to the support of its literary partners, Conversations Book Club was able to donate over $500 in brand new books to a book drive benefiting the Peace Corps' work in Costa Rica this week.

"We were excited to be a part of this amazing project," says Brandon, MS native Cyrus Webb, President of Conversations Book Club. The co-ed reading group was established in November 2006 to connect authors with readers, and over the years it has hosted over 90 author-related events throughout the country. Webb, 35,read about the project in the Rankin Ledger and knew it was something he had to support.

Thanks to the willingness of authors Barbara Worton and Robert Brown of Great Little Books as well as author Jackie Carpenter of Xulon Press, Webb was able to box up about 30 new books and deliver them to Cups of Brandon on Monday, February 28, 2011 for the drive.

"This is the least we can do to help a great cause," says Webb. "It really just shows what we can do when we work together."
